2022 – A year in review
As most of you would know, that I am a huge fan of the “Agile” way of life, which I picked up from my software development years. Keeping in tradition for this year’s Retro, its time to reflect and answer the usual questions:
- What went well?
- What could be improved?
- Any ideas for improvement moving forward?
What went well?
- Got a new additional in the family with the birth of my god-daughter Aria
- Did some more winter hiking
- Went camping more often
- Got a new electric skateboard to relive my skateboard years
- Dad and Mom went to Pakistan
- Did a few “Elma and I” only escapes
- Got a chance to go to the Dominican Republic
- Switched jobs and now working at BeyondTrust
- Stayed married for 10 years without getting kicked out of the house
- Broke some stuff at the smash room
- Grew a top knot, and still trying to grow a man bun
- Finished a book and is on Amazon
- Made a new good friend on one of my random “me time” trips
What could be improved?
- Learn to deal with grief better with the passing of Happy Kumar
- He was like our Fredericton branch of parents
- Get out more in the snow
- Post more on the blog
- Try to not gain more weight as I lost that bet last year
- Try to learn to live in the now instead of the possible futures
- Try to learn how to use the snow feet
- Dad and Mom should not have gone to Pakistan, as they got Covid.. Thanks Appa!
Any Ideas
- Sleep more underneath the stars
- Go out winter camping some more
- Try to meditate (Yuck)
- Try to make some new friends
- Get more random people in the house
- Write another book and place it on Amazon
- As always annoy the Elma
- Try to do one good thing for the community, and
- As always, eat my vegetables
This year ended on a very sad note with Happy not being in our lives anymore, alas the circle of life is always at play. We also did add a few new people in my life, some of whom got a lot closer to the heart.
Personal take away for the year is: I do what I need to do, but good to charge up my personal batteries by doing what I want to do every so now and often.
