One of the perks of the new place was that we got three heat pumps in the house, which is amazing for keeping our energy costs down. The downside to them was that they did not connect to my smart eco-system. So this needed to change.

After doing some google-foo and thanks to all-mighty amazon, I came across this IR/RF transmitter which can connect to my smart eco-system. This opened the gate to allow me to connect to all three heat pumps and then be able to control them via my phone via the BoardLink app.

Connecting the phone was good enough for Elma and Dad, however I wanted voice control. So I connected it to google and I could say “Hey Google, activate AC off” and this would turn off my heat pump in the living room. Using this I programmed in the AC mode, heating mode and fan mode on the heat pump. I see a lot more automations coming up in the near future.
