Automating the Cellphone Routines
It’s been a year-and-a-half since we been working from home, and I have started noticing some routines that I do with my cell phone. Like, when I start work I turn the volume to 0 and when I stop working I turn the volume to 100%.
Now this got annoying as I like to automate stuff. So here is what I want to do. When its time for me to go to work I want my volume to be 0%, get a notification and maybe turn on an app that downloads my Bluetooth sensor information
When its time to stop working I want to do the reverse. So now to find out a way to do this.
Found an application call Tasker that allowed me to control a lot of things in my phone even though I did not have root access to it I was able to do a few things so this is what I’ve done so far.
Tasker uses something called scenes and profiles. The scenes are what we want to control and the order we want to control them. While the profile is what to trigger the scenes.
I created my scenes like the way I like in terms of control and in the profile section of an able to run these tasks from Monday to Friday at 8 a.m. in the morning trigger the morning scenes and at 4:30 p.m. the go home scene gets triggered.
Here are the scenes I created:
And the profiles that trigger them:
Now to experiment with the location setting of the app. PS: anyone know how to root a phone 😉
