I know I have said this many times, but I will say this again. Its good to have mom and dad living with us, this time around Dad had the craving for Mom’s fish curry.

The ingredients are simple:

  • Onion
  • Tomato
  • Yoghurt
  • Ginger
  • Garlic
  • Salt
  • Garham Masala
  • Crushed Coriander seeds
  • Chilli Flakes
  • Red Chilli Powder
  • Pepper and
  • Caraway Seeds

As always if you ask what the measurements are Mom would say; “A dash of this” or “Until you find the smell to be right” So your guess is as good as mine.. lol. If you like it spicy add more chilly. ha

One of the tricks I learnt from Mom was that she pan fries the fish before hand so that it does not crumble in the gravy.

Frying the fish

The steps are simple (to Mom ofcourse)

  • Sautee the onions
  • Add ginger / garlic until brown
  • Add the tomatoes, and
  • Add the spices.
  • Cook until the oil is separated from the mixture
  • Add yoghurt
  • Then add the fish and water just enough to cover the fish
  • Let the water boil and then turn if off
